How to Get a Marriage License in Las Vegas

How to Get a Marriage License in Las Vegas

Nevada has the easiest marriage laws in the country — no waiting period and no blood test. Here is exactly how to get your Clark County marriage license and marry the same day.

Step 1 — Apply (online pre-application saves time)

Both people fill out the pre-application on the Clark County Clerk website, then visit the Marriage License Bureau at 201 E Clark Ave, downtown Las Vegas. Pre-applying online just speeds up the counter visit.

Step 2 — Go in person with valid ID

Both parties must appear together with a valid, government-issued photo ID (passport, driver license or state ID). You do not need to be a U.S. citizen or Nevada resident. If you were previously married, know the date your last marriage ended.

Step 3 — Pay the fee

The license is about $102. The bureau is open daily, including evenings — check current hours before you go. There is no waiting period, so the license is valid immediately.

Step 4 — Have your ceremony

You can marry the same day at a chapel, at the Office of Civil Marriages (about $80), or anywhere with a licensed officiant. The signed license is filed afterward and your certified copy follows. We photograph chapel, Strip and desert ceremonies across the valley — see elopement photography.
