Getting your wedding party and guests from point A to point B in Las Vegas is simpler than most cities — and more expensive than most couples expect on a Saturday night. Here is what works and what to budget.
The Strip is more walkable than it looks — until it is not
The Strip looks compact on a map but a walk from the Bellagio to the Venetian is about 20 minutes in heels on a 95-degree summer evening. Inside a single resort complex, walking is genuinely fine. Between two adjacent properties, a Lyft is $8–$12. Between mid-Strip and the south end, plan on 10–15 minutes by car. The Monorail covers mid-to-north Strip but does not connect to most ceremony venues.
The practical takeaway: for a ceremony on the Strip where all events happen at or adjacent to the same property, guests do not need any organized transport. For a multi-venue day (ceremony here, reception three miles away), they do.
Shuttle buses for wedding guests
A dedicated shuttle from the guest hotel to the ceremony venue and back is the smoothest option when you have 40 or more out-of-town guests. Charter shuttle companies in Las Vegas typically run $80–$150 per hour for a 24-seat minibus and $120–$200 per hour for a full-size coach, with a two-to-three-hour minimum. Book at least 3–6 months out; reputable wedding shuttle companies fill up on peak Saturdays.
Set two departure times from the hotel — one 45 minutes before the ceremony and one 20 minutes before — so late arrivals still make it. Arrange a return shuttle after the reception ends, and remind guests the shuttle is on a schedule, not Uber.
Limousines and wedding cars for the couple
A stretch limo or sprinter van for the wedding party is a classic Vegas move. Rates vary widely: a standard stretch limo runs about $85–$130 per hour; a party bus or sprinter with amenities runs $150–$250 per hour, both with minimums. Confirm the vehicle size (number of passengers including the photographer, who rides with you), that there is a bar and that the driver knows the photography stop locations.
For an elopement or smaller group, a private car service is more comfortable and usually cheaper than a limo. Several companies specialize in wedding-day transportation and will wait while you do portrait stops.
Rideshare realities on a busy Saturday night
Uber and Lyft work well in Las Vegas for individual guests, but surge pricing on Friday and Saturday nights can push a Strip-to-venue ride from $15 to $40–$60. Do not assume guests will rideshare to the ceremony on time — at least a few will open the app at the last minute and see a 20-minute wait. If punctuality matters (and it does at a ceremony), a shuttle or a firm transport call-time in guest communications is worth the spend.
Off-Strip and Summerlin venues — plan for driving
Venues like Emerald at Queensridge, Canyon Gate Country Club and Red Rock Canyon are 15–25 minutes from the Strip by car. Guests without a rental will need a rideshare, and there is no walking alternative. If you have guests who do not use rideshare apps, identify a plan: a shuttle stop, a friend with a car or a taxi (yes, taxis still exist in Las Vegas and wait at major hotel entrances). For desert-location ceremonies like Red Rock, confirm your photographer can reach the location too — most of us carry a wide-angle lens and a loaded cooler for good reason.
